IJURIN BASIC HEALTH CENTRE GETS FACE-LIFT.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi had during his electioneering campaign in 2018 promised that no town or community will be left behind in the developmental agenda of his administration. One of the pillars of his administration is affordable health care.

During his first term in office between 2010-2014,each community in Ekiti State can point to one or two projects in their domain executed by Governor Fayemi and Ijurin town was not an exception. It was during his first term that we had the first tarred road in the town, the citadel of learning in the town, Ijurin Comprehensive High school was renovated, the Ojurin ancient palace was given a face-lift,construction of an ICT centre and a brand new C.A.C primary school was established in the town.

Governor Fayemi continue his pedestal of development in his second term and when a community like Ijurin embraces Progressive Party, development will not be far from it.

The remodelling, rehabilitation and reconstruction of Ijurin Basic Health Centre began last year and to God be the glory, the project is now completed and ready for commission. The Basic Health Centre formerly known as Maternity Centre was not only given a face-lift in terms of physical structures but also the centre was equipped with modern health facilities. Few days ago, the emergency vehicle, Ambulance arrived the town thereby making  Ijurin, the second town to have such in the entire local government, after Ijero, the local government headquarter. Other medical equipment at the centre included Ultra Sound Scanning Machine, I.U.D kit,Suction Pump, Examination Couch, Solar Deep Freezer, RDTs kits for malaria diagnosis, Stadiometer, Delivery Couch among others.

With this development, the people of the town and neighbouring communities will now enjoy a robust and better health services.

It is the prayer of each community to have their sons and daughters in high places, particularly in government circle. One thing is to have an illustrious son in places of authority, another thing is for that person to be responsible. In Ijurin-Ekiti, we have a son, Hon Biodun Omoleye, the Chief of staff to Ekiti State Governor who is highly responsible and doing everything possible to put the name of the town in the world map. Kudos must therefore be given to Hon Biodun Omoleye for attracting this laudable project and many others to his home town.
